About Me

I’m Quinn Gordon, Licensed Therapist.

I formally came to the work of therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a fellow human experiencing the pandemic wreaking havoc, indiscriminately and discriminately, on our communities, I felt a deep sense of urgency to enact the changes I wanted to see in the world. This experience brought awareness and focus to what I have known, intuitively, for many years: my purpose was to be a therapist.

Professional Background

With a varied background in human services, nonprofit consulting, high-growth startups, and restaurants, I have honed an ability to establish trust and build rapport with empathy across many environments. As a supervisor, consultant, teammate, volunteer, partner, daughter, sister, or friend, I feel most sustained, creative, and impactful when I am listening empathetically and leveraging my skills to help someone else.

Education and Credentials

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from Whitman College and a Master’s in Education from Seattle University with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and substance use disorders. I actively engage in ongoing learning, consultation, and supervision and am a member of several formal consultation groups.

Reflection On Therapy

I am cognizant that the systems of power and oppression that are at play in our communities are also at play in therapy. I endeavor to address them directly and with compassion to build trust and make strides toward client goals. I remain ever committed to learning about myself through my own therapeutic work and embracing the ways that my identities and experiences inform my work and can be of help to others. I consider this work an honor and a privilege. In addition to therapy, I enjoy being outside, being creative, and spending time with friends and family.
